As many of you are aware, Zelis™ Healthcare (formerly Stratose) acquired the Maverest Dental network on 02/28/2017. We wanted to take the opportunity to communicate to you what we have learned so far about how this affects you. Please see below what we know:
Fee Schedules:
At this time, there will not be any changes to the fee schedules previously assigned to providers who were directly contracted with Maverest. Zelis will also honor the fee schedules that were offered to providers who were already in the process of joining Maverest. In addition, Zelis has advised that providers who are directly contracted with both companies will have the option to select either their existing Zelis or Maverest fee schedule for reimbursements. This does not include the Maverest Plus fee schedule as it is being retired.
Credentialing:
Applications that were previously submitted will still be processed by Maverest. Currently Maverest is running over 90 days for approval. Moving forward Zelis will be processing new applications and they meet quarterly to approve new applications.
Partnerships:
Maverest and Zelis have always had similar partner relationships and so far there have not been any confirmed partnership changes. There are some concerns however surrounding how Zelis will handle the differences in partner relationships between the two networks. So far Zelis has not determined that there will be any changes but will continue to research this and provide new information as it develops.
