In this day and age insurance networks can be accessed in a number of different ways, through many different companies or administrators. This can cause difficulty for an office when it comes time to determine which insurance fee schedules to use. Luckily, there are a few easy ways to gather this necessary information. One very helpful resource for an office is the Five Lakes insurance workbook. As a part of the Five Lakes PPO Management Service Programs, offices will be provided a document called an insurance workbook. If Five Lakes has credentialed, negotiated, or optimized an insurance network for a client, information regarding these networks will be found in the workbook. The contents in an insurance workbook are as follows:
- A listing of all the insurance networks Five Lakes has credentialed, negotiated, and optimized for a practice
- A comprehensive diagram of leased or shared networks that your practice(s) may have access to through contracted networks
- Every fee reimbursement schedule, organized into an easy to understand and portable document
If an office has additional questions regarding a fee schedule they may also wish to contact the provider relations department of the network in question. While it is best to use the telephone numbers that are written on the back of a patients insurance identification card, a list of provider relations numbers may also be accessed at www.FiveLakesPro.com.
